Hydra Minerva Suite at Marlow, Bucks Fire

With over two years in the planning, the Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service Minerva/Hydra suite built at Marlow represents one of the premier command training facilities in the UK. Situated on the M40/M4 corridor, Marlow is well placed for easy access from anywhere in the Thames Valley as well as surrounding counties.

The facility is currently used as the Thames Valley Fire Services collaborative Assessment & Development centre in addition to Incident Command Training.
The newly built suite features 4 syndicate pods all equipped with the latest IT and plasma screens, a full size lecture/briefing room and a mock command unit.

The facility offers Commander’s the flexibility to command incidents from their own incident command vehicle parked in the bays or a mock unit built in the basement. Observers can also watch exercises remotely via CCTV and comment on candidate performance during exercise debriefs.

Discussions are currently on-going with Police and other partner agencies to develop plans for multi-agency training and exercises.
